The Briarwood Project

My name is Evan and I am thirteen years old. I first heard of the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation from my mom and dad. I really thought it was great that this organization is giving college scholarships to the kids of the soldiers who served our country and gave the ultimate sacrifice – their lives.

Did you know that most kids of fallen patriots lost a parent when they were really young? And when it is time for them to go to college, it is hard to find them and give them additional assistance to get a college education? This organization is trying to change that and help these kids.

The only way we can make the world a better place is to learn and be educated. That way, we are less likely to make the same mistakes twice and more likely to solve the problems of hunger, poverty and depletion of our natural resources.

My goal is to raise $500. It won’t pay for a college education, but it will help a scholarship winner buy their books. I know that times are tough for a lot of people. My family has given up a lot of things to make ends meet, but this is so important to the future of a kid who lost a parent protecting our country and for the future of our country itself.
