Gabe Plotkin founded Tallwoods Capital LLC in 2022 and serves as the firm’s Chief Investment Officer. Tallwoods Capital is a family office that focuses on long term investments predominantly in the equities market. Previously, Plotkin was the CIO and founder of Melvin Capital, a hedge fund that focused on consumer and technology stocks. The fund peaked at over $13 billion in assets under management with industry leading gross returns of 45% annually from 2015-2020. Prior to Melvin Capital, Plotkin was a prominent trader at SAC Capital. Gabe graduated magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa from Northwestern University with a BA in Economics. Gabe plays an active role as a co-chairman and rotating governor of the NBA’s Charlotte Hornets. Gabe and his wife are actively involved in many philanthropies. They live in Miami with their four children.
