Rob Sweeney is President of Sycamore Partners, a private equity firm based in New York specializing in consumer and retail investments. Previously, Rob served as the global head of Consumer and Retail Investment Banking at Goldman, Sachs & Co., where he spent twenty-two years advising clients across sectors including energy, utilities, healthcare, consumer and retail. In his capacity as President, Rob will build upon Sycamore Partners’ deep network of relationships with CEOs, Board members, and management teams of public and private consumer and retail companies.
Rob is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and the Wharton School of Business, where he was named a Palmer Scholar. After graduating from Penn’s NROTC program, Rob served more than six years in the Submarine Force, in various roles aboard USS Annapolis (SSN 760) and the Submarine Officers Advanced Course training command. He lives in Connecticut with his wife Ellen, and their children Peter, Emma and Isabel.
