Alexa is the daughter of Staff Sergeant Brian Fairis who passed away from a service connected illness in 2016. Alexa describes her dad as“selfless. He was constantly putting others and their needs before his
own.”
With the help of Fallen Patriots, Alexa graduated from Shenandoah University with a degree in Business Administration in December 2021. During her time in college, Alexa was extremely involved with extracurricular activities such as the Student Investment Club, Accounting Club, Shenandoah Outdoor Adventure and Recreation, and the Food Recovery Network.
When asked how receiving a scholarship from Fallen Patriots has impacted her college journey, Alexa says, “Receiving scholarships from Fallen Patriots helped reduce my stress while I was in school. I never had to worry about how I was going to pay for tuition or my books. CFP made it easier for me to go to school and focus on what I was meant to be there for, to learn!” Alexa is now part of the Fallen Patriots family
as a Development Analyst.
There are approximately 25,000 children who have lost an active-duty parent in the military over the last 35 years. The vision of Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation is to ensure that every such child receives all necessary college funding.
