Arwyn is the daughter of Colonel Tristan Higgins who passed away from an accident in 2021. When asked how she would describe her dad, Arwyn says, “He approached life with a ‘one day at a time’ perspective, and I try to live my life that way in his honor. Any time I was struggling or needed a shoulder to lean on, he would give me the best advice and calm me down.”
With the help of Fallen Patriots, Arwyn graduated from San Diego State University with a degree in Dance and Communications. Her dream is to dance professionally in New York City or Europe and eventually teach dance in higher education.
When asked how receiving a scholarship from Fallen Patriots has impacted her college journey, Arwyn says, “CFP is the reason I was able to graduate from my institution. The additional financial assistance that CFP provided me with was the difference between me struggling through the last four years, and thriving through the last four years.”
There are approximately 25,000 children who have lost an active-duty parent in the military over the last 35 years. The vision of Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation is to ensure that every such child receives all necessary college funding.
