Cameron is the son of U.S. Army Major Mary Smith who passed away in 2014. He says his mom would be proud to see him continuing his education, stating, “She would be proud to see me at a Harvard-level school pursuing my degree, and to see how my motivation and dedication started from early on.”
With the help of Children of Fallen Patriots, Cameron is earning his degree in Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He plans to continue his training with a commercial organization, such as an airline or private aviation company, with aspirations of entering the field of aviation brokerage as well.
Cameron credits the support of Fallen Patriots for giving him the extra push to achieve both his and his sister’s lifelong dreams. He says, “It’s been a true honor to have such a passionate organization helping us continue our education and pursue the dreams we seek. Without their financial and emotional support over the past few years, we would not have been able to accomplish what we have.”
There are approximately 25,000 children who have lost an active-duty parent in the military over the last 35 years. The vision of Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation is to ensure that every such child receives all necessary college funding.
