Scholar Highlight: Christopher Beale

Christopher B. is the son of National Guard Sgt. First Class John B. Christopher remembers his father as a “humble and honest man with such a passion for his country.” To Christopher, his father’s military service means everything to him. “It is an example of how I want to live, meaning that I will live giving everything I have in me to be great and do what is right for myself, my family, and my country.”

On June 4, 2009, Sgt. First Class John B. was killed in action. “My father’s heroism was an example of how to serve and give to your country, to be a soldier and fight the good fight to defend everything you ever loved,” explained Christopher.Christopher’s advice to others who have gone through similar experiences is to remember that this isn’t where things end, “our parents paid the ultimate sacrifice to provide us with the freedom to be whoever we want to be. Stand strong and be proud of who you are, that is what our parents want for us. They will never leave you; they will always be with you in this journey of life.”

With the help of Children of Fallen Patriots, Christopher studied Business Administrative Management at Clayton State University and graduated in June. We are honored to share that Christopher has joined our team at Fallen Patriots.“I think my father would be proud of so many challenges I have overcome, from being shy to coming out of my shell and expressing myself, and overcoming learning challenges in school, he wanted to see me excel in this world to be the best I can be. And I am doing just that.”

There are approximately 25,000 children who have lost an active-duty parent in the military over the last 35 years. The vision of Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation is to ensure that every such child receives all necessary college funding.
