The holidays mean different things to different families. For some, it is a time of shopping, caroling and heading to the next party. For others, the holidays mean one less stocking hung, one less present under the tree, one less place at the dinner table.

Sgt. Christopher Taylor died in Operation Iraqi freedom, leaving behind his wife, Janina, and two young children. Taylor’s children, Aaliyah and Xavier, sadly will only have the spirit of their dad joining them Christmas morning as they open presents.

The words of ten-year-old Gold Star child, Aaliyah Taylor:

“Hi. My name is Aaliyah Taylor. I am 10 years old. I am going to the 5th grade. I have been on the A-B honor roll since kindergarten. When I grow up I want to be an artist, gymnast, and a chef.

Even though I was a baby when my dad, Sgt. Christopher Taylor, died I still love and miss him. Because of him dying for our country, he is able to help make my dreams come true. Because of him I can choose to go to Culinary School and go to college and major in art and physical education.”

Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation (Fallen Patriots) is aiming to ease the financial burden Gold Star wives, like Janina, especially feel during the holidays. Although the Taylor children are still young, ensuring their future college education is the single most important gift we can them.

Regardless of how small a donation, donors can make a beneficial change in Gold Star families. Approximately $100 will support a meal plan for a student. Join Fallen Patriots this holiday season, and brighten Christmas morning for Gold Star families.
