Making Their Dreams Possible
Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation has maintained its vision of being an influential part of all surviving scholars’ dreams. When children of the fallen are granted a college scholarship, they are receiving the first step towards a dream that their mother or father died to protect. A college education is not only crucial for success today, but also an opportunity for students to learn valuable life lessons they will carry with them for the rest of their lives.
Surviving military children face many challenges that are unique to their situation, such as having a parent deployed for extended periods of time, moving frequently and losing a parent. With the help of Fallen Patriots and generous donors, many surviving scholars have the opportunity to attend their university of choice and achieve their dream career.
“The best way you can honor your fallen parent is to just make your life as beautiful and meaningful as possible, because ultimately that would have been their dream for you: for their children to live the best life possible and to be happy,” explained Fallen Patriots scholar Calder Felipe.
Calder was only 3-years-old when her dad died in a B-1 crash. She believes her dad would be most proud of her for following in his footsteps and attending USAFA.
The possibility and chances to help make scholars dreams possible are endless, especially during the season of giving. Giving back can be done by donating, or simply just by creating awareness for Fallen Patriots’ mission. With the support of partners along with every individual contribution, Fallen Patriots can continue to increase funds for the families we support and make college dreams a reality.
