Children of Fallen Patriots 8th Annual Greenwich Gala
Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation’s 8th Annual Greenwich Gala, held on November 12th, 2016, brought together active duty heroes, surviving military family members and people from all walks of life who were compelled to support children of the fallen. The patriotic evening was a remarkable success, raising over $2.5 million, thanks to the generosity of loyal supporters who believe in Fallen Patriots mission to provide college scholarships to military children who have lost a parent in the line of duty.
The Patriot Award was presented to General Joseph F. Dunford Jr., who is the 19th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the nation’s highest-ranking military officer and the principal military advisor to the President, Secretary of Defense and National Security Council. Prior to becoming Chairman, General Dunford served as the 36th Commandant of the Marine Corps. In accepting the Patriot Award, General Dunford spoke moving words for our nation's surviving children and for Fallen Patriots supporters, who honor their sacrifice by investing in their future. He shared some touching examples of military service and discussed the importance of education as a foundation for success in life.
To date, Fallen Patriots has awarded over $14 million in college scholarships and other support to military children who have lost a parent in the line of duty and started a pipeline for 6,500 children who are too young for college. The Fallen Patriots team is filled with gratitude for partners, corporations and individuals who continually give so much.
