A SOLDIER'S CHILD
Apr 1, 2016
Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation (Fallen Patriots) creates a life-long relationship with Gold Star scholars. The relationship often begins with A Soldier’s Child (ASC). Similar to Fallen Patriots, their mission is to serve the children of fallen active duty military personnel who have given their lives while defending the United States of America.
A Soldier’s Child focuses on the early years of life by sponsoring birthday celebrations and mentorship programs. Gold Star children will never receive another birthday gift from their selfless soldier. A Soldier’s Child strives to fill the missing piece during celebrations.
“As citizens of the United States of America, we are forever indebted to the men and women who so unselfishly protect our freedoms. It is our objective to communicate to the children left behind that the memory of their parent will not fade away,” explained Daryl Mackin, A Soldier’s Child Founder. “We want them to know that there are many Americans that are forever grateful for their parent’s sacrifice.”
After adolescence, Gold Star children are directed to Fallen Patriots to provide emotional and financial support. A college education is the single most important gift we can give these children.
Military children face many challenges that are unique to their situation, such as having a parent deployed for extended periods of time, moving frequently and sometimes losing a parent. Gold Star children have had to endure the ultimate sacrifice, losing a parent. We are here to help.
