Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation hopes donors will cap a weekend of Thanksgiving and holiday cheer by celebrating and donating to our mission on #GivngTuesday. The daylong celebration of generosity will highlight the immense difference others can make to ensure a future for surviving military children.
Now in its sixth year, #GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the influence of social media and collaboration. The day lands on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, Nov. 28th, and kicks off the charitable season. The concept behind #GivingTuesday, is to create a day where giving to others becomes a priority.
We hope the national movement will bring funds and awareness to Fallen Patriots. Approximately 97% of casualties at war are male, leaving mothers alone to care for their children. Any donation can help ease the burden that surviving wives have during the holidays.
The season of giving, is expected to continue increasing this year. #GivingTuesday is a simple idea. In order to participate find a way for your family, your community, your company or your organization to join in acts of giving.
The widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday are prior to the day of giving. Giving Tuesday is attempting to build a social habit, to give a portion of those funds to non-profit organizations and remind people that there is more to holidays than consumerism and commercialization.
