College is stressful! Between group projects and essays, it can feel like you must be a marathon runner just to keep up. That’s why we want to provide you with these tips and tricks that will help you conquer your day like a pro.
Get your work done ahead of time.
There is some wisdom to the phrase “Why put off tomorrow what you can do today?” If you know that a certain day of the week is going to be a busy one, utilize one of your less hectic days to get your work done. If you find your schedule doesn’t allow for that, try breaking up assignments into smaller, more manageable chunks. You will save yourself a lot of grief the night before it’s due.
Get prepared the night before.
There are a few lessons we can all learn from Ann Mark, the University of Texas student who went viral after posting a hilarious video about trying to get to a final on time and having to sprint all over campus to find the right building. Setting yourself up for success is key to maintaining your cool on busy days. The night before a busy day, make time to get your bag packed, print out everything you need for the next day, set out an outfit, and make your lunch. When morning comes, you can be out of bed and out the door in record time.
Finally, treat yourself kindly.
No matter how busy your day is, don’t let yourself be lured into a coffee shop. Drinking too much caffeine will not only make it harder to focus, but it can also be detrimental to your health in the long run so stick to one cup of coffee a day. To keep yourself going during the day, keep a full water bottle and some healthy snacks with you. To really do yourself a favor, wear active wear and run the path to each class. Not only will your body thank you, but you’ll feel more alert and less stressed just by getting your blood pumping.
