Christopher K. is the son of U.S. Navy Commander Christopher K.. Christopher shares that his father was a selfless man who put his family and friends before himself. “His love and joy was contagious to anyone he was around. He was an extremely hard worker who always thrived to do his best in all areas of life.”
In 2014, Commander K. passed away in a training accident. Christopher shared that it’s important for other students going through a similar loss to keep fighting. “Your life has changed forever, but you must accept that and begin to focus on things that are in your control. If you need support, do not be afraid to lean on others to help you persevere. Live every day to the fullest and try to make your loved ones proud.”
Fallen Patriots is honored to support Christopher as he follows in his father’s footsteps as a Midshipman at the United States Naval Academy. Christopher is studying Quantitative Economics and “looks forward to being commissioned as a Naval officer where I will have the honor to lead our country’s great sailors and marines.” Like his father, Christopher hopes to be able to make as great an impact his father did on those he served with.
After receiving a scholarship from Fallen Patriots, Christopher shares, “Receiving the scholarship from Fallen Patriots has provided great financial relief on my family. Having one less thing to worry about has really helped my family over the years.”
There are approximately 25,000 military children who have lost an active duty parent in the military over the last 35 years. The vision of Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation is to ensure that every such child receives all necessary college funding.
