Anaya is the daughter of fallen U.S. Army Specialist Simeon H., who was killed in action in Iraq in 2003. Anaya was only one year old when her father passed away, but she says that her family has made sure that she hears plenty of memories about her father.
“Everyone I know always says that my dad was one of the funniest people they knew, always had a smile on his face, and always put family first.”
With the help of Children of Fallen Patriots, Anaya is studying Marketing at Morgan State University. Anaya is involved in multiple extracurricular activities at her university. She is a member of the Morgan State University Softball Team, the Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC), Student Government, and the National Society of Leadership and Success.
Anaya says that the help and mentorship she has received from Children of Fallen Patriots throughout the years has inspired her to plan on obtaining her Master's degree once she graduates from Morgan State. We are proud to help fund Anaya's college education and we are excited to see what she will accomplish in the future!
The vision of Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation is to ensure that every such child necessary college funding. Approximately 25,000 children have lost an active-duty parent during their term of military service. No centralized database exists of these families, and as a result, children who are eligible for our support can be missed.
