Isabelle F. is the daughter of U.S. Navy Lieutenant Junior Grade Daniel F.. “My father was strong, smart, fearless, athletic and had the greatest sense of perseverance I will ever see,” explained Isabelle. “He taught me to think critically, chase after my goals and never let anything or anyone put me down.”
With help from Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation (Fallen Patriots), Isabelle is double majoring in Marketing Communications and Theater at Emerson College. “I love working hands on to create and distribute new artistic creations.” Her goal is to work in film and television because she enjoys the fast-paced, multi-faceted and culturally important aspects of the industry.
When Isabelle was performing during one of her plays, she remembers not being sure if her dad would be able to attend because his PTSD and bad back could prevent him from being in large crowds or sitting for long periods of time. However, when the lights came up, her father surprised her in a way she will never forget. “I could see him standing in the back shouting and cheering my name. I will never forget this because I had never felt so loved and supported in my whole life.”
Isabelle believes her dad would be proud of how she has excelled academically and continued with her work in the arts. She thanks Fallen Patriots for helping make it all possible. “Fallen Patriots has enabled me to attend college and focus on my academics. I am so grateful for the extreme generosity from this organization. It has inspired me to get involved with other students like me and help in as many ways as I can.”
There are approximately 25,000 children who have lost an active duty parent in the military over the last 35 years. The vision of Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation is to ensure that every such child receives all necessary college funding.
