Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation has partnered with Citi to offer Fallen Patriots scholars the opportunity to learn about business and finance while also providing opportunities for professional development, career coaching, and networking with industry professionals and other Gold Star students. Throughout the month of October, Citi will offer three different virtual events: Virtual Career Symposium, Financial Literacy 101 Session, and a Virtual Trading Competition. event 1: Virtual Career Symposium
What: A virtual career symposium held by Citi. Students will attend sessions with Citi employees and will discuss topics such as business, finance, and tips for success in the professional world. Open to all majors and areas of study.
When: There will be two identical sessions hosted covering the same material. Two options:
1st Session: Tuesday, September 22nd, 4-5:30 PM EST
2nd Session: Monday, October 19th, 4-5:30 PM EST
Where: Sessions will be held virtually over Zoom so you can attend from anywhere!
event 2: Financial literacy 101 session
What: A financial literacy session that you can attend virtually with your parents. The Retail Team at Citi will cover important topics to help you take control of your finances. Topics will be relevant to college students and their parents.
When: Tuesday, October 13th, Time TBD
Where: Sessions will be held virtually over Zoom so you attend from anywhere!
event 3: virtual trading competition
What: This virtual trade competition will allow you to flex your finance skills by researching and choosing a stock at the beginning of the competition. Stock choices must be submitted by 5 PM EST on October 1st. Once you chose your stock, you can close it at any point during the competition period to maximize your percentage gain. Send us any information when you want to close your stock and it will be recorded and passed along to Citi. Your gain/loss will be calculated based on the closing prices of the stock on the date which you sell. All stocks will be closed on October 30th. Winner will be decided by percentage gain, meaning you can go long or short on stock. The winner will receive a prize that is determined and provided by Citi.
When: Competition period is October 1st-October 30th.
Where: Competition will take place virtually!
