For nearly sixty years, IHOP restaurants and its franchisees have proudly served their communities and worked together with guests to help build the well-being of families across America. As part of its Veterans Day initiatives, IHOP will advance its commitment to helping those in need and partnering with Children of Fallen Patriots, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing college scholarships and educational counseling to children who have lost a parent in the line of duty.
From November 2-11, select IHOP restaurants across the U.S. will help raise critical funds for the more than 20,000 military children who have lost a parent in the line of duty and the hope of an education. Guests can help honor the sacrifice of fallen soldiers and support their legacy by making an in-restaurant donation to Children of Fallen Patriots on check or by purchasing a $1 or $5 Wall Tag at participating IHOP restaurants; guests who purchase a Wall Tag will receive a coupon in the same $1 or $5 amount to be used on a future visit at a participating IHOP restaurant*.
“Children of Fallen Patriots is an exceptional organization dedicated to ensuring that militarysons and daughters do not miss out on a college education after losing a parent in the line of duty,” said Darren Rebelez, President, IHOP. Rebelez, who himself served as an Army Ranger and is father to a daughter currently serving in the Army, continued “I am proud that leading up to Veterans Day, IHOP, our franchisees and our guests can help honor the legacy of the heroes that sacrificed so much by supporting their families and children.”
“We are grateful to the participating IHOP restaurants, franchisees and IHOP guests who are helping raise much-need college funding and awareness for the more than 20,000 military children who have lost a parent,” said David Kim, Founder and CEO, Children of Fallen Patriots. “We believe a college education is the single most important gift we can give these children and is one of the best ways we can honor those who died defending our country.”
In addition to select IHOP restaurants partnering with Children of Fallen Patriots, IHOP restaurants nationwide will salute the more than 23 million men and women who have retired from or are currently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces by offering a complimentary stack of patriotic Red, White & Blue Pancakes** on Veterans Day.
On Friday, November 11 Veterans and Active Duty Military can enjoy three of IHOP restaurant’s hot-off-the-griddle, world famous Buttermilk Pancakes with glazed strawberries, blueberry compote and whipped topping for free at participating U.S. locations between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Select IHOP restaurants will also offer a combo of two eggs, hash browns and choice of two bacon strips or pork sausage links as part of the Red, White & Blue Pancake promotion for retired and active duty military personnel.
