Gold-star families are the mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters and relatives left behind when a member of their family is killed while on active military duty. This Memorial Day weekend, we take the time to honor the stories of the fallen soldiers and their loved ones, who remember the sacrificed paid by their family members to our country not just on the last Monday in May, but every day.
We also focus on the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation, a national foundation that helps provide scholarships and educational counseling for the kids of members of the military who have died on active duty. A death of a parent not only puts tremendous strain on loved ones but can also put the future of their children in a tailspin, particularly when it comes to paying for higher education.
