Veterans and members of the military can play miniature golf for free today in honor of Independence Day at Thunder Road Mini-Golf at Wylie Park, according to owner David Novstrup.

Thunder Road is also participating in the Stars for Scholars program. The fundraiser benefits the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation, a nonprofit that assists kids who've had a military parent die while serving. Donations go towards college tuition.

Donations can be made at both the go-kart and mini golf buildings through July. People who donate $5 will get a coupon for a free round of mini golf, Novstrup said.
