Ryan Lee Gehris is cycling from California to New York. He arrived Thursday afternoon in Reading, where he stopped at the Vietnam Veterans War Memorial in City Park to see his grandfather's name on the wall.

WASHINGTON (Circa) – It’s a long journey for Ryan Lee Gehris, he riding his bike more than 3,000 miles across the United States to raise money for the Fallen Patriots Foundation.

Ryan Lee Gehris rode his bicycle over mountains, through the woods, across the desert, and now finally to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, a moment he’s been waiting for his whole life.

For a few dollars, they could have a gold star put up on the wall with the proceeds going to the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation, which funds scholarships for children who have lost a parent in the line of duty.
