Reston, VA (November 1, 2017) – In honor of Veterans Day, Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation and IHOP® Restaurants are teaming up for the month of November to raise donations and awareness for the charitable organization.
Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation honors the sacrifices of military heroes by ensuring the success of their children through college education. Fallen Patriots’ efforts bridge the $32,000 gap in funding between the VA, other resources and the total cost of undergraduate education.
Seth Straw: College Sophomore
Seth’s father, a pilot in the United States Marine Corps, passed away in a helicopter crash three months before Seth was born. Seth is a sophomore at Auburn University with plans of attending veterinary school. “While I never knew my father, I think he would be proud of how I have continued to pursue my dreams despite what has happened in my life. I never let what happened to him bring me down,” explained Seth.
How You Can Help
Throughout the entire month of November, participating IHOP restaurants* will donate $1 from every Red, White and Blue Pancake Combo sold to Fallen Patriots. Guests can also make an on-check donation at IHOP with all funds going directly to support the organization’s scholarship program.
“Our scholarships and financial assistance, funded by our loyal donors and corporate sponsors, have helped over 440 bright and motivated students graduate from college,” explains David Kim, co-founder and CEO of Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation. “More than 1,650 IHOP restaurants throughout the country will assist with our mission by spreading awareness and helping raise funds needed for military families of the fallen; we couldn’t be more honored to receive the support of the brand and its operators.”
“IHOP and our franchisees are proud to again partner with Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation, an incredible organization whose mission aligns perfectly with our brand’s commitment to taking care of children and families,” said Darren Rebelez, President, IHOP. Rebelez, who himself was an Army Ranger and Gulf War veteran continued, “Throughout the month of November, IHOP and our operators invite guests to join us in honoring the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country by helping their children realize their dream of a college education.”
IHOP guests can support Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation by visiting their local IHOP during the month of November to purchase a Red, White and Blue Combo or make an on-check donation.
