Banc of California CEO Doug Bowers Check Presentation with Fallen Patriots Scholar Asher Patton

Reston, VA – A college education is a life changing gift for children who have lost a parent in the line of duty.  On Thursday, December 13 Banc of California presented a $10,000 check to Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation (Fallen Patriots) during their Holiday Party in Santa Ana, California.  Fallen Patriots honors the sacrifices of fallen military heroes by providing college scholarships and educational funding to military children who have lost a parent in the line of duty.

Banc of California strives to serve and empower communities within the Golden State, and Fallen Patriots is proud to use this generous contribution to grant financial assistance to students from their state.  “As Banc of California grows, so too does out level of commitment and service to the diverse population of California. We are proud to be recognized for our enduring partnerships with our clients and communities,” according to the company’s website.  “Our leadership team is comprised of innovators who are passionate about ensuring a successful future for our surviving military families,” said Doug Bowers, President and CEO of Banc of California.

The success of Fallen Patriots can be told by countless surviving scholars, including Asher Patton, son of fallen U.S. Marine Corps Sergeant Richard Edward Stumpf, Jr. “I’m not sure who else has been on the receiving end of someone paying for something as big as your college education, but the feeling of gratitude is indescribable,” Patton said.  “Fallen Patriots has taken care of me beyond college by providing me with a career.  CFP has honored my father’s life by impacting mine in a way that I never could have imagined.”

The vision for the foundation is to extend peace of mind to Gold Star families in all 50 states, in all branches of the military.  “We believe one of the best ways to honor our fallen heroes is to invest in the future of those they loved most – their children,” said David Kim, co-founder and CEO of Fallen Patriots.  “A college education is the key to a bright future for any child and the generosity of Doug Bowers and all Banc of California employees’ is making those hopes and dreams come true.”
