Arlington, VA – Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation (Fallen Patriots) and the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) have put pen to paper to formalize their partnership to better assist families of fallen servicemembers.  A Memorandum of Understanding was signed on Monday, July 30, marking the beginning of a joint effort to provide maximum support and resources to Gold Star families through a data-sharing agreement between both non-profit organizations.

The partnership between Fallen Patriots and TAPS grants both organizations a better opportunity to make a life-changing impact on families of fallen military heroes.  Fallen Patriots’ mission is to provide college scholarships and educational counseling to children who have lost a parent in the line of duty, while TAPS provides compassionate care and survivor support services to all those grieving the loss of a military loved one.

“We are excited to formally establish an official partnership between two of the largest national organizations supporting the families of our fallen heroes,” said Fallen Patriots’ Enrollment Coordinator Kenzi Vizzari, who leads the foundation’s student outreach and awareness.  “This partnership is important because it helps us work together to provide holistic care for our students and families – it allows us to do the legwork, so our families have one less thing to worry about and it will help us reach more kids who need our funding to go to the school of their dreams.”

Under the agreement, Fallen Patriots and TAPS will offer students and families in their respective databases the opportunity to be connected to additional resources by providing consent to have their information shared with the other organization.  “The services provided by TAPS and Fallen Patriots are complimentary, and through this data-sharing agreement, both organizations will have an even greater capacity to reach survivors and provide life-changing services,” said TAPS Founder and President Bonnie Carroll.  "This agreement formalizes what has been a long-standing, working partnership between TAPS and Fallen Patriots,” she added.
