Radio Host Donates 100% of Sales from Valentine’s Boutique to Non-Profit
Dulles, VA – Dr. Laura Schlessinger, Sirius XM radio host, is making a difference in the lives of military children who have lost a parent in the line of duty by supporting Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation (Fallen Patriots). From January 28 through February 2, she raised over $24,000 for the non-profit by selling fine silver jewelry and glass art in her Valentine’s Boutique.
Dr. Laura has been hosting boutiques to sell her personally handcrafted jewelry and glass art and donating the proceeds to Fallen Patriots since 2017 and has raised over $100,000, equaling nearly 18 years of debt-free education. She says, “I am excited to be working with Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation to help fund college educations for so many deserving sons and daughters of our fallen military. I’m thrilled to combine my passion for designing and creating artwork and contributing to such a worthy cause.”
With backing from partnerships like Dr. Laura, Fallen Patriots raises awareness and funds to provide college scholarships and educational counseling to children of fallen servicemembers. The foundation provides holistic care for its scholars, which encompasses educational benefits, internship opportunities, and job placements.
The success of Fallen Patriots can be told by countless surviving scholars, including Asher Patton, son of fallen U.S. Marine Corps Sergeant Richard Edward Stumpf, Jr. “I’m not sure who else has been on the receiving end of someone paying for something as big as your college education, but the feeling of gratitude is indescribable,” Patton said. “Fallen Patriots has taken care of me beyond college by providing me with a career. Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation has honored my father’s life by impacting mine in a way that I never could have imagined.”
“It’s truly an honor to have Dr. Laura’s partnership and the amazing support of her listeners. The mission of Fallen Patriots would not be possible without wonderful patriots like Dr. Laura,” said Fallen Patriots co-founder Cynthia Kim. The foundation believes that investing in the education of surviving military children is one of the best ways we can honor those who died defending our country.
