U.S. Marine Corps Captain Alan R. was killed in September 2004 during his fourth overseas deployment. His family says he was humble, hardworking, and loved being a Marine. “He died doing something he loved, and that makes all who serve our country very special to me,” his son Blake expressed.
Blake was only five when his Dad died, but he still remembers going for rides in his Bronco. “We used to go to the desert or mountains to go four-wheeling. Those are some of my fondest memories,” he shared.
With the help of Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation, Blake is studying Political Science at Seton Hall University in New Jersey. Blake is involved with Ski and Snowboard Club, and volunteers at a local high school to tutor and mentor students. Blake plans to pursue a Master’s Degree in Public Administration.
“Your support thus far has been tremendous, and you have enabled me to get this far, so I am very thankful for that! There is NO way I could have afforded a private college without Fallen Patriots.”
Nearly 25,000 dependents have been left behind by troops killed in the line of duty over the past 35 years. Fallen Patriots is working to identify and support every child in need through raising funds and awareness of the mission.
