Sarah M. is the daughter of fallen U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer 2 Timothy M. When Sarah was just three years old her father died in a training accident while deployed. Timothy M. is remembered for his calm, loving, adventurous attitude and for being an amazing father. “He would come home and play with my brothers and me for hours, even after a long day at work because he truly loved his kids. My father was honest and humble,” remembers Sarah.
Sarah believes her father would be most proud of her sense of determination and for deciding to never give up. “My dad was very determined, when he wanted something, he tried for it,” shares Sarah. “I believe I have done a good job to do my best in all that I do and never give up.”
Sarah urges students who are experiencing a loss to keep moving forward. “Don’t let it be the reason to stop living your life to the fullest. We, of all people, should realize life is short, so we need to make the most of it. Use your parents’ passing as a motivating factor to make them proud in all that you do.”
With the help of Fallen Patriots, Sarah is studying marketing at Clemson University. “Fallen Patriots has encouraged me to try my hardest in all of my classes, school work and extracurriculars… My education is very important to me and Fallen Patriots has enabled me to go to a top university, purchase the resources I need to succeed in my classes, and remain cognizant to the price my father and so many others paid so students, like me, could go to college in a free country.”
