Only in Las Vegas, Nevada could there be an event large enough to celebrate the most exciting masonry competition known as Spec Mix Bricklayer 500. This trowel and mortar party will showcase the speed, skill and stamina of a mason and the technology and innovation in building materials. This year, Spec Mix Bricklayer500 will take their industry-favorite, crowd-pleasing event to a new level through support of a worthy cause by partnering with Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation

MASONRY MADNESS Day will kick-off Children of Fallen Patriots relationship with Spec Mix, Inc. at their 13th annual Bricklayer 500 competition. The event takes place Wednesday, February 4th, 2015 and Fallen Patriots will be live tweeting from the event.

Masonry teams from around the globe will gather in Las Vegas at the World of Concrete/World of Masonry tradeshow to compete for the title of “Best Bricklayer” and other prizes including a new Ford F250 4x4 truck. In this 60-minute match, 24 masons will race to see who can lay the most bricks, which is estimated to reach over 15,000. That’s 250 bricks per minute!

You can participate in this event by making a pledge for each brick laid at this year’s World Championship bricklaying competition. Pledges starting at just a penny per brick can make a difference. That’s $150.00 if you are doing the math! Contributors may also choose to make a one-time donation rather than pledge per brick. In addition to the pledge per brick contribution plan, Spec Mix, Inc. will be hosting an online auction prior to the event, with the goal of raising $50,000 that will carry over into the big event in Vegas. The donations raised will go directly towards college scholarships for military children who have lost a parent in the line of duty.

Together with the support of the construction industry through Spec Mix, Inc., Fallen Patriots can make a difference in the lives of the nearly 25,000 children who have been left behind.
