Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation Selected As Benefactor For Citi's 2015 "e For Education" Campaign
Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation (Fallen Patriots) will benefit from Citi e For Education campaign initiated and launched by Citi. This three-month initiative to raise funds for education-related nonprofits around the world will help Fallen Patriots send military children who've lost a parent in the line of duty to college.
Launched on October 5 and continuing through December 11, Citi, one of the largest FX providers in the world, will donate funds to several charities spanning a range of geographies and core focus areas that are based on a percentage of institutional client FX transaction volumes executed through its electronic trading platform, Velocity.
"We are honored to be selected and thrilled to be part of this initiative that has helped charities throughout the world," explains Kendra Davenport, President of Fallen Patriots. "Not only will this campaign help us financially assist Gold Star families, but the exposure will also help these families learn about us and how we can assist their children."
Citi e for Education will help the growing demands on the Foundation to ensure access to education by college-bound children who have lost a parent in the line of duty. It is estimated that nearly 20,000 more children will require assistance in the future. Since 2002, Children of Fallen Patriots has provided more than $9.8 million in total assistance, including college scholarships, supplemental grants and educational counseling to military children.
Citi is not setting specific fundraising goals, but has also not imposed a cap on the maximum amount that may be donated. Total donations will be driven purely by client FX transaction volumes.
